East Africa packs some of the world’s most striking natural experiences into a small area — from the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti to mountain gorillas in misty cloud forest. Here’s an overview of the four countries we cover for DACH travellers:
Kenya – The classic safari destination, centred on the Masai Mara, easy to reach and easy to combine with a beach extension on the coast.
Tanzania – Home to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, often paired with a stay on Zanzibar.
Uganda – Known as the “Pearl of Africa,” famous for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and unusually diverse wildlife.
Rwanda – Compact, well organised, and also home to mountain gorillas — with shorter transfers than Uganda, but higher permit costs.
