Uganda

Uganda is often called the “Pearl of Africa” and is best known for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Beyond the mountain gorillas, the country offers exceptional biodiversity — from tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park to chimpanzees in Kibale Forest.

A gorilla permit costs around USD 800 per person in 2026 — significantly cheaper than neighbouring Rwanda. The best time for trekking is the drier months of June to September and December to February.
