Kenya is one of the most popular safari destinations for travellers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Masai Mara is one of the most wildlife-dense regions in Africa, best known for the Great Migration between July and October. Other highlights include Amboseli National Park with its views of Kilimanjaro, Lake Nakuru with its flamingo colonies, and the coast around Diani Beach for a beach extension.
The best time to visit is June to February, outside the long rainy season of March to May. Since 2024, DACH citizens no longer need a traditional visa to enter — instead, an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) is required.
